It's All About The Governor in the Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 6

The governor is back.  The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 6, "Live Bait" is all about him. Now he found a greater reason to live.

This is my least favorite episode. Expect a rather slow narrative. I find some scenes boring. That is understandable as the writers try to show the transformation of the Governor's character.

The episode starts with a flashback. The Governor is seen killing the Woodbury army survivors except for Martinez and Shumpert. In the morning, he woke up realizing the two abandoned him. Angry, he returns to the abandoned Woodbury town which is already surrounded by walkers and burn it.

Moving forward, he wanders alone and stumble upon a building. He met a family. The father is David with his two daughters Tara and Lilly Chambler, and her daughter Megan. He uses a fake name Brian and makes up a story of him escaping the town because of the leader's insanity.

He slowly gains the trust of the family by doing errands. First he retrieves a board game set for Megan and David. Then he retrieves two oxygen tank for dying David who has stage four lung cancer. He starts to bond with Megan- reminds him of his daughter who turned into a walker and killed by Michone. When David passed away and reanimates, the Governor was forced to kill him in front of the family.

Trying to forget his past, he burns his old family photo. After burying David and comforting Megan, the Governor tries to leave and the rest of the family decides to go with him. During their journey, the truck breaks down.

While walking in the street, they encounter horde of walkers. They started to run and Megan just stopped. Already attached to the girl, the governor tries to convince her to run. After a few seconds she goes towards the governor which signifies that he has gained her trust. As they flee, while the Governor is carrying Megan, they fall into a hole filled with walkers, who are killed by the Governor with his bare hands.

As he hugs and assures Megan that he will protect her, the Governor sees a shocked Martinez standing on top of the trench.

Now, we see the governor being attached again. The last time we saw that with his relationship with Andrea. It will be interesting to see his old character as a protector.

Next week, we shall see if the Governor has lost leadership. Will he regain back his influence?

I'm still waiting for the Rick and Daryl's confrontation about Carol's exile. Can't wait.

In the meantime, enjoy the next week's preview.
