Paul Walker to Die in Fast and Furious 7 ?

Paul Walker's untimely death has significantly affected the seventh installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise.

According to Universal, the production has been delayed but not to be scrapped. Director James Wan held a conference call last Sunday to discuss on how to proceed with the movie in a manner that is respectful to Paul Walker.

Sources said that almost half of the film has been completed that includes the major scenes of Paul Walker. The cast and crew were on break during the tragic accident  and they are supposed to resume the production in Atlanta after the Thanksgiving celebration. The shoots in Abu Dhabi are also scheduled to finish  in January 2014.

Now the question is, how would they re-write the script now that Paul Walker is gone. We would assume that Walker will die in this movie or they would do a plastic surgery to mimic him. 

The Fast and Furious 7 is set to hit the screen on July 2014. This could be the final tribute to Paul Walker's contribution in the movie industry.

Whatever the final script is, we do hope that the fans of this racing franchise will be happy to see their racing Hero in his last and final stunt!

Epic Battle in The Walking Dead Mid Season Finale

Truly this is the most intense and explosive episode yet. Mind blowing. Shocking. Epic battle. The second time I watch it, I was still sitting on the edge of my seat. No wonder, The Walking Dead continues to be number 1 in the ratings.

What I like most about this episode is Rick's transformation. In Season 3 and beginning of season 4, he was unstable and could not lead properly. Buth through Hershell's guidance he gained his humanity back. Too bad Michone didn't have enough fight scenes. But overall it's worth to be called mid season finale. It will make you want for more.


For those who miss it, here's the recap.

By telling lies, the Governor has convinced his group to attack the prison. He has captured Michone and Hershel and plan to use them as ransom to get the prison. Hershel tries to convince the Governor that their groups can live together in the prison peacefully but the Governor disagrees.

Back at the prison, Daryl confronts Rick about Carol's banishment ( I'm a little bit disappointed the scene is very brief ). They decided to tell Tyreese but were interrupted by an explosion. The governor and his group arrive.

The governor starts to demand that they leave the prison otherwise they would kill Hershel and Michone then attack them and destroy the prison. Rick negotiates that they all could live together in the prison. It may not be easy but they could do it. Hershel smiles showing he's glad to see that Rick has come back. All his efforts to influence Rick for the better has paid off.

The group seemed to agree with Rick but the governor is not happy. So he slits Hershel's neck using Michone's sword and the battle ensues. Michone was able to escape. Infuriated by the death of Meghan ( bitten by a walker in the camp ), the governor ordered an all out attack. The tank has taken down the fences.

Glen and some of the group managed to escape with the bus. But it was not seen whether Judith and other children are safe. Tyreese almost got killed but was saved by Lizzie. Thanks to Carol's great training.

By strangulating, the governor almost killed Rick but Michone stabs him through his back using her sword. Rick then returns to prison and found Carl killing walkers. They search for Judith but only found a bloody baby carrier.

Lilly finds the wounded governor lying on the ground and kills him by shooting in the head. With one man's bad leadership, everything is gone. He promised them survival, but his uncontrolled anger killed them all.

Devastated, Rick and Carl retreat from the prison.  Rick tells his son " Don't look back Carl. Just keep going."

The long wait for episode 9 starts now. we would have to wait until February 9, 2014 for the second half of season 4.

Movies I Will Watch this December 2013

These are the films that I will definitely watch this December. Did I miss anything? Let me know.

Frozen - now showing. A new feature from Walt Disney Animated Classics with rave reviews for its beautiful animation, wonderful story and great music. Heartwarming and funny, this is definitely a must-watch.

Hours - opens Dec 13, first film to be released posthumously for Paul Walker. Set in 2005 during Hurricane Katrina at a hospital with no power supply. A father struggling, who lost his wife while giving birth, to keep his premature daughter alive inside a neonatal ventilator. Based on the trailer looks like it will be the most serious film of Walker. He has shown his acting ability.



The Hobbit : The Desolation of Smaug - starts Dec 13. Its the second instalment of 3-part film series based on J.R.R. Tolkien's novel The Hobbit. Prepare well for the 2 hour and 41 minutes long flick full of adventure. My favorite Lord of the Rings film is the second. Looks like this will be the best too.

Walking With Dinosaurs 3D - Produced by BBC. With stunning visual effects and a different take on the story of different species of dinosaurs around 70 million years ago, you will have fun while you learn.

47 Rounin - Dec 25. A remake account of group of Samurai in 18th century Japan set out to avenge the death and dishonor of their master at the hands of a ruthless shogun. Starring Keanu Reeves, Hiroyuki Sanada and an ensemble of other Japanese actors. Its a fantasy-action film that will please kung fu fans like me.

Paul Walker Died in Car Accident After Attending Charity for Philippine Typhoon Victims ( Video )

Paul Walker, famous in the movie franchise Fast and Furious died in car accident on November 30, 2013 at approximately 3:30 pm. After attending a charity event for victims of Typhoon Haiyan, he left together with a friend Roger Rodas. Riding a red Porsche Carrera GT, the driver lost control and crashed into a  pole and tree in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California.

In a statement in the actor's Facebook page " It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend's car in which both lost their lives. We... are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news.

Universal Pictures also issued a statement saying " Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the Fast & Furious films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul's family.

His friend and co-star Vin Diesel posted on Instagram : "Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace."

Truly we lost another good man. Walker passed away doing good as he has always been. In the past, he has participated in various humanitarian efforts including aid to 2010 Haiti earthquake victims.

Are Filipino Domestic Workers Slaves?

You may have heard of a recent controversy in the UK involving  British televison chef Nigella Lawson, her art dealer ex-husband Charles Saatchi and their two personal assistants Franchesca and Elisabeth Grillo. Despite fraudulently spending over $1.1 million using the couple's credit cards, the two Grillo sisters told the Isleworth Crown Court that they were treated "worse than Filipino slaves".

It makes me wonder why the two staff would compare their employer's treatment to our highly sought Filipino domestic helpers. Is it a remarks made out of  ignorance and bigotry or a valid observation about the harsh reality that our overseas domestic workers experience?

Intrigued by this news, I browse through the net and found this CNN article by Susan Ople. She described the existence of modern day slavery among some Filipino domestic workers. One case in Saudi Arabia where the lady was sold to 11 different employers. She ended up in hospital after being beaten. There are other horrible cases of abuse and we hope the government with the help of other organizations will continue to help and reach out.

On the other side of the story, there are also some inspiring accounts. For instance, a devoted servant for over 20 years to her Singaporean employer inherited over $4 million cash and a luxury apartment.  Very lucky or just deserving? I know of some friends who speak highly of their employers. They are treated as part of the family and are even involved in the family decision. They are given at least 1 day off each week and 1 month paid holiday during Christmas.

X Factor USA 2013 Thanksgiving Night ( Video )

This is a horrendous elimination of two of the most talented acts in X Factor USA 2013, Lillie McCloud and Josh Levi. Despite the captivating performance of Lillie, she didn't get enough support. As for Josh, America didn't like his cool interpretation of Bruno Mars's Treasure.  In the final face off for the bottom two, the judges had a split decision between Josh and Rion as the bottom two. In a deadlock, they based the decision on the votes. And the America has spoken to send home Josh.

On a brighter side of the thanksgiving night, the top 8 and their respective families had a turkey feast. Demi Lovato performed her latest single Neon Lights. And Michael Buble sang It's A Beautiful Day.

Now we are down to  Top 6 : Rion Paige, Carlito Olivero, Jeff Gutt, Restless Road, Ellona Santiago and Alex & Sierra. I would certainly hope to see Ellona and Alex & Sierra in the grand finale.
